UK Pentecost Retreat Concludes In Grace – ‘All Of Them Were Filled With The Holy Spirit’

The UK Pentecost Retreat concluded on Sunday with a closing service titled ‘All Of Them Were Filled With the Holy Spirit’ and focused on Acts 2:1-21.

The sermon was delivered by Pastor Andrew and looked at the meaning of the day of Pentecost, and how the perfect timing of God fulfilled everything so that His history could move into this bright new era of the Holy Spirit. They looked at the Jewish festivals of Pentecost, the Feast of Firstfruits, and the Feast of Weeks, and came to understand more deeply the meaning of those Jewish annual festivals. They came to see their relation to the cross of the lamb of God, His resurrection as the firstfruits of all who will be resurrected to eternal life, and the day of Pentecost where the followers of Christ were baptised by the Holy Spirit and united into one church body.

The message looked at the meaning of the extraordinary events on the day of Pentecost and their meanings, as well as the prophesy of the Prophet Joel that Peter refers to at the beginning of his sermon. Through the message, members were able to gain an overview of the history of God from the fall in Genesis 3, and through the history of salvation and redemption that led to this amazing day of restoration on the day of Pentecost.

Pastor Andrew exhorted members to set up faith, let the truth into their hearts, and allow the Holy Spirit to enter and dwell in them. In this new era the Holy Spirit will not leave us, and is available to all who call on the name of the Lord. He prayed that the church would now rise up in strength and participate greatly in this new era of the Holy Spirit.
