Europe has launched its first web-church Igreja Emanuel, that will target Lisbon and Portugal.
The work of editing the website and creating website content in Portuguese has already started and is planned to finish within one week.
Europe aims to launch 22 web-churches in total.
Being Europe a continent with one of the highest internet penetration rates in the world – 87.2% – and where people’s perception of church is largely negatively affected by the old ritualistic state churches, it is of great strategic importance to be able to reveal to the people a different kind of Christianity that is alive, passionate and spiritual.
